A DAY IN THE

LIFE OF A CANVAS RESIDENT

You are the artist, we are Canvas... and we're here to help you tell your story as only you can. So, we asked AMY from GLASGOW CALEDONIAN UNIVERSITY for some insight into her typical day at CANVAS GLASGOW after living with us since September 2021. Check out her answers below!

📆 WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

"A typical day for me would be to wake up around 8:50am, get ready for uni and leave with my flatmate at around 9:15am. We walk to uni together to get our free breakfast from our uni before class.

I normally have class from 10am – Noon and then I have the luxury of being able to come back to Canvas to make my lunch as it is so close. I will have my lunch then head back to uni again for my afternoon classes.

After my classes are done for the day, I like to use the Canvas gym downstairs for around 30 mins to an hour to do a little exercise and de-stress. I then shower, make some dinner, and spend time in the kitchen with flatmates. Finally, I do some studying at my desk in my room, wind down, sleep and repeat the next day."

🛏️ WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT IN YOUR CANVAS ROOM?

"The main thing in my room that I couldn’t live without is my coffee machine! I love the convenience of being able to make a quick coffee whilst I am studying and not having to go through to the kitchen."

🏙️ WHAT'S YOUR FAVE THING ABOUT YOUR CANVAS CITY?

"My favourite thing about the city is all the amazing places there are to eat! There are so many restaurants and cafes to choose from in town. It is so great to catch up with a friend over a meal or a coffee.

Another great thing about Glasgow is the public transport. There are loads of buses, there are trains and there is also the subway. It is great because it is cheap and convenient to go on a trip somewhere with friends, whether it is a day trip to Edinburgh or an evening trip to the West End of Glasgow."

👨‍🎓 WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW UNI STUDENT?

"My advice to a new student would be to join societies at uni, go out and make lots of new friends. Also join in at any events held at your accommodation as this is another great way to meet new people and even better that they live in the same building as you!"

🏡 WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO REBOOK AT CANVAS?

"I moved-in in September 2021 and have continued to rebook for this year and 23/24. I chose to rebook at Canvas because I absolutely love the location of this building! Less than a 5 minute walk to my university and a 10 minute walk to the city centre.

Another reason I chose to rebook canvas is the staff here are amazing and always happy to help or even just there if you want a chit chat."

There we have it! If that all sounds like a bit of you, make sure to contact our CANVAS TEAM to rebook your room for this September or start your new Canvas journey.
